OBSESSIONS. DECORATION. SALIENT FACTS. 48 THE ART OF SCENT I t's long been proclaimed that Olivier Creed — master perfumer and the sixth generation to lead his family's fragrance house — approaches the process of scent- making as an art form. "Without the artistry of the creation process, it would just be science," he says. "Artistry is the key ingredient." When developing Creed's latest women's fragrance, Floralie, the perfurmer sought the ideal artist to collaborate with on works of art that epitomize the new fl owery scent. After exploring a global roster, it was Dallas native Taelor Fisher — an emerging artist and Instagram sweetheart with nearly 20,000 followers — who was tapped. Much like Floralie, Fisher's work is inspired by fl oral motifs and naturalism — an abstract exploration of shape and color that's both beautiful and unruly. The scent is equally dichotomous: Top notes of Bulgarian rose, tuberose, lilac, and marigold are balanced by more woodsy middle and base notes of amber, cedar wood, musk rose, and lily of the valley. Fisher's feminine paintings have been adopted by Creed for the packaging and in-store display. Floralie makes an exclusive debut at Neiman Marcus through the month of September, before arriving at Creed boutiques in New York, Miami, and Las Vegas in October. Come spring 2019, Fisher will make rounds to a trio of boutiques, where she will host artful in-store workshops. While the locations have yet to be released, we have high hopes the artist's hometown is on the list. Creed Floralie, $415 for 2.5 oz, exclusively at Neiman Marcus. AN EMERGING DALLAS ARTIST AND ONE OF FRANCE'S MOST STORIED FRAGRANCE HOUSES TAKE A FRESH PERSPECTIVE ON PERFUME. BY CHRISTINA GEYER Taelor Fisher
