32 A PARTY ON THE EDGE SHELBY HODGE HAS THE SCOOP. PHOTOGRAPHY DAVE ROSSMAN. W hen pop artist Ashley Longshore walks into the room, convention goes out the door. The wild-child New Orleans talent — col- lected by Lizzie Tisch, Blake Lively, and Salma Hayek — has a penchant for F bombs, oversized bejeweled sunglasses, and irreverent artworks, all of which had a few social mavens blushing during Longshore's pop-up gallery opening, held in a raw space on the ninth floor of The Post Oak Hotel. More than 100 works were on display amid a Longshore fantasy: pink carpet, pink and red chan- deliers, pink lighting, and churning disco balls. When Longshore first met Post Oak owner and party host Tilman Fertitta, she greeted the billionaire with, "Hello, m... f..." And that was the start of a rollicking evening during which Longshore, dressed in gold and pink brocade, had guests lined up to meet, greet, and grab a selfie. Among them were Longshore bestie and collector Francine Ballard, a New Orleans expat who connected the artist with the billion- aire; Longshore's husband, Michael Smith; and Longshore BFF white witch Corbin Chamberlin, in from Santa Fe. The revelry continued at the River Oaks home of Greggory and Pat Burk, where in- siders partied until the early hours of the next morning.
