letter publisher 16 JONATHAN ZIZZO T he post-New Year's lull that February brings is a trea- sured time for me. The New Year is invigorating. And, yes, I am that girl: in the gym, testing out a new juice cleanse, and trying to keep my New Year's resolutions. (A walking cliché, I know.) Still, there is something motivating and special about the first couple of months of the year. February, in particular, feels filled with promise for a fabulous future, with an added dose of determination inspiring us all to be our best selves. It also brings a lovely little respite from our packed social calendars, which really rev up in March. Until then, I plan on treating myself to a spa day, catching up on sleep, and binge-watching all the Amazon Prime shows I can before hitting the ground running. But not so fast: There are still a few must-attends this month. We ease into the busy event schedule with the PaperCity-sponsored UNICEF Gala, on Friday, February 1, at The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas, hosted by television personality Brooke Burke and honoring 2019 Global Philanthropist award recipients Brad Paisley and his wife, Kimberly Williams- Paisley. The fun continues Friday, February 22, with the American Heart Association's annual Go Red for Women Luncheon, also sponsored by PaperCity. We have no doubt that chairs Judy Hendrick and Katherine and Key Coker have organized a wonderful and inspiring afternoon. Here's to a restful month, to keeping those New Year's resolutions, and to having a wonderful month ahead. Hillery Stack Dallas Publisher hillery@papercitymag.com
