SPECIAL ADVERTISING SECTION 74 EYE ON DESIGN CLOSET COUTURE I f Carrie Bradshaw had only been acquainted with Ornare, we're sure hers would have been the closet of dreams. Brazil-based Ornare, which specializes in sophisticated and customizable closets, kitchens, and bathrooms, has been a Design District staple since opening six years ago. It caused a stir recently when the showroom underwent a renovation in order to house the sleek Wide Line collection, designed by Ricardo Bello Dias. Consider this the Rolls-Royce of walk-in closets (hanging rods wrapped in leather), with more than 50 custom finish options, including natural-wood veneer, leather, glass, metal, and matte or gloss paints. For housing collections of accessories, there are options for square or rounded LED-lit shelves, and pullout shoe racks and drawers. Ornare, 1617 Hi Line Dr. #190A, 214.377.1212, ornare.com. PAPERCITY TAKES A LOOK AT WHAT'S NEW IN THE DALLAS DESIGN DISTRICT, FROM SWOON-WORTHY CLOSETS TO A MUST-SHOP SPOT FOR CHIC TOTS. W hen Dondolo founder Catalina Gonzalez selected the Dallas Design District for her flagship bou- tique, we knew she was on to something. Indeed, since opening the shop barely a year ago, it has become a go-to stop on the design circuit for style- savvy parents in search of chic clothes for their little ones. The heirloom-quality collections, crafted from European and Colombian fabrics, have a social conscious- ness bent. Dondolo employs mothers in Colombia to work on hand-embroidery and hand-smocking, with a portion of sales going to provide children in Colombia with much-needed clothing. HELPING HANDS HANDSOME FURNISHINGS L os Angeles interior designer Ryan Jackson, well known for his contemporary interiors that have appeared in Elle Décor and Architectural Digest, also has a handsome collection of bespoke furniture. Handmade by artisans in L.A., the line includes tables, seating, case goods, outdoor furniture, and rugs that combine clean lines and luxurious finishes with an eye toward thoughtful details. Now, Jackson's wares can be found at Allan Knight and Associates, including the dramatically curved Shoreditch console and the artful, two-piece Subtraction cocktail table.
