40 BY CHRISTINA GEYER BLOOMING BOLDLY FRANCESCA AMFITHEATROF'S DEBUT COLLECTION AS ARTISTIC DIRECTOR FOR LOUIS VUITTON JEWELRY AND WATCHES MAKES A STATEMENT IN FLOWERS. THE SCENT OF ANDROGYNY In our new world of non-gender- identifying creative individuals, Louis Vuitton's fi rst collection of unisex fragrances is au courant. Les Colognes — which comes in three scents (Sun Song, Cactus Garden, and Afternoon Swim) — was developed by master perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, who captured the spirit of California with a sunny blend of citrus, bergamot, and exotic teas. Visionary artist Alex Israel, a darling of both the art and fashion worlds, has created artwork for the advertising and packaging to match each fragrance. An oversized sunglass lens depicts Sun Song. Cactus Garden is illustrated by way of a desperado in a desert landscape. And a voluminous wave captures the West Coast vibe of Afternoon Swim. Israel's work is also found on the chic fragrance travel cases, which reference Maison Louis Vuitton's long history of catering to a globetrotting clientele. Louis Vuitton Les Colognes, 100ml $250, 200ml $360; fragrance travel case $580, at the Louis Vuitton boutique, louisvuitton.com. Billy Fong W hen former Tiffany & Co. design director Francesca Amfitheatrof announced her departure from the jewelry house in 2017, those who follow her innate eye for heightened creativity and brilliantly imaginative aesthetic waited anxiously to see where she would land. Several months later, it was offi cial: French fashion house Louis Vuitton was Amfi theatrof's new home, where she now serves as artistic director for jewelry and watches — an appointment that signals a signifi cant shift in Louis Vuitton's creative attention to the category. The debut collection of Amfi theatrof's jewelry for Louis Vuitton, B.Blossom, is as sophisticated and whimsical as collectors could hope for — and it's quintessentially Amfi theatrof. This from a designer who has the ability to shake things up, bringing a fresh point of view to a storied brand or otherwise iconic motif. In the case of B.Blossom, each piece reinterprets Louis Vuitton's famous star-shaped fl ower — a design originally created by Georges-Louis Vuitton in 1896 — in a more playful, even youthful way. Rings in pink and yellow gold showcase the graphic fl ower rendered in diamonds atop a pearl-like mound of malachite, onyx, white agate, pink opal, diamonds, or gold. They're perfectly stackable for drama. For a more classic look, Amfi theatrof has updated the traditional gold signet ring, with a gold-and-diamond fl ower taking the place of the standard monogram. Bracelets and necklaces in pink and yellow gold are a spin on the charm bracelet, with a collection of bead and pendant talismans that dangle elegantly from a geometric cable chain. The piece we covet most is the rounded gold statement cuff inlaid with fi ve pearl- shaped icons in pavé diamond or onyx. It's fl ora meets hardware in a most sublime way. Louis Vuitton B.Blossom collection, from $3,300 to $56,000, at the Louis Vuitton boutique. Louis Vuitton B.Blossom
