Outta Sight Brian Bolke Vogues Hamish Bowles casts his editors eye on Forty Five Ten. Hamish Bowles Faisal Halum Missy Rogers Merritt Beck BY LACY BALL. PHOTOGRAPHY BO JOPLIN. Thom Faust F orty Five Ten is a style icon on its own, and with the extra wattage of Vogue international editor at large Hamish Bowles, the scene was blinding. Bowles drew legions of fans eager to have their copy of his new book Vogue: The Editors Eye, personally inscribed. Hamish was so lovely to all the guests, said owner Brian Bolke, but I felt very sorry for his poor hand, signing all those books. The man of the hour was accompanied by CFDA award-winning jewelry designer Dean Harris, who dazzled admirers with his stunning bijoux fashioned from organic materials, naturally shed horn, with 18K gold, platinum, silver and aluminum. Guests alternated between The Hamish (a mixture of Belvedere, cranberry juice and orange spice) and The Dean (a Belvedere gimlet), rocked to the beats of DJ Lucy Wrubel and delicately grazed on butternut squash shooters and lemon pistachio mini tarts courtesy of the T Room. PHOTOGRAPHY JASON ACTON, BRUNO. I Gibbs Henderson dont know about you, but it seems like yesterday that Hotel ZaZa blew open its chic doors in Uptown. This rare breed of boutique lodging never feels claustrophobic, even when its filled with 1,200 of Dallas swellegant set, as it was for its 10th anniversary party. I kicked off the festivities with some afternoon shopping in Highland Park Village with Regan Landreth (making multiple stops for vino between store visits) and a sunset drink on Piper Wyatts gorgeous lanai before arriving at the soire with the brilliant Brooke Hortenstine. She looked effortless in a vintage fur shrug hanging from her demure shoulders very Olsen twins with a simple silk Lanvin cocktail frock underneath. I was super-stoked (pardon my word choice; perhaps its a hangover from January, when I was forced to watch way too many football games) to be wearing a new addition to my wardrobe arsenal: Marc Jacobs gold lam pants. Other gorgeously garbed guests included Lori Givens, Wren Homsey, Maxine Trowbridge, Kary and Eduardo Brittingham, Barbara and Don Daseke,Lindsay and Chuck Jacaman, Garry Cox, Don McDermett, Kellie Rasberry, John Terlingo, Nasiba Adilova, Matt Martinez, Gina Safar, Kelli Stinson, Brian Carr, Jamie Jones, Taylor Harp, Julien Sabatien, Morgan Carnevale, Robert Burnside, Jackson, Colleen Davis, Greer Colton, and Dwight Emanuelson. After such an evening, I am tempted to set myself up in residence at the ZaZa, something akin to a writer eating his way through an advance on a screenplay at the Chateau Marmont.Does anyone still go to Craigslist to read the missed connections posts? I really felt like putting in my own to find the girl in the red jumper at the party. Doll, you won hands down best ensemble of the evening.
