First up, the annual Hats in the Park Luncheon encouraged guests to don their best fascinators, porkpies, fedoras and bowlers. Chairman Donna Bruni oversaw the afternoon, which honored tireless HPC supporter Ernie Cockrell with Kelli Blanton at the Bob and Elyse Lanier Award, presented by Tootsies Mayor Annise Parker. Hats off: Lynn Wyatt, ROCC Ann Short, Judy Nyquist, John Bradshaw Jr., HPC executive director Doreen Stoller, C.C. Conner, Leisa Holland-Nelson, and Janet Cockrell. Next was HCP���s annual soir��e, Evening in the Park, honoring Rice University. Chairmen Ileana and Michael Trevi��o and Susan Krohn and Patrick Gehm organized the festivities, which included clinking cocktails Chair Catherine Bradley at by the re���ecting pool; dinner, care of Tony���s, Urban Green served near McGovern Lake; and desserts and dancing on Molly Ann Smith Plaza. En plein air: Rice���s David Leebron and wife Y. Ping Sun; Tom LeCloux and Steven Hamilton; HPC board chair Ann Kennedy; Christina Sacco; Anita and Gerald Smith; and Susie and Sanford Criner. Rounding out the trifecta Gina & Devinder was Come Sail Away, a f��te for the Bhatia at Evening park���s younger set, Urban Green. in the Park This signature event offered bright young things the chance to mingle at Hermann Park at dusk and paddle madly in paddleboats on the lake, with tunes spun by DJ Mav and a silent auction. Exquisite daywear from Chanel, Herm��s, Valentino, Azzedine Ala��a and more, paired with the requisite hats and sunglasses, created a scene straight from a Slim Aarons spread at the double-day Tootsies River Oaks Tennis Tournament Luncheon. The luxe retailer provided a fashion show inspired by the ultimate icon of exuberant femininity: Marilyn Monroe, chairman Lilly Andress��� muse for the day. Laudable looks included David Peck (whose white knee-length frock was a nod to Monroe���s infamous gown in The Seven Year Itch), Victoria Beckham, Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen, Yves Saint Laurent, Celine, Lanvin and Haider Ackermann.
