CRUZ CONTROL CRUZ ORTIZ SOLOS AT NANCY LITTLEJOHN FINE ART. By Catherine D. Anspon. Photography Chris P. Bachman. O ne of the luminaries of the San Antonio scene, artist and activist Cruz Ortiz, came to town for his debut at Nancy Littlejo hn Fine Art, as part of the citywide "Latino Art Now!" initiative. The exhibition, "One Hundred Años," incorporated Ortiz's fi gurative painting — with his signature fauvist palette — and also introduced new sculpture. Contributing to the authentic nature of the night, the mariachi ensemble Trio Romantico performed, while guests partook of Ranch Water, fueled by Mezcal Joven. Post opening, Cruz and wife, Olivia Ortiz, were honored at a cozy dinner party at casa Littlejohn, with neighboring eatery Mina Ristorante serving.
