OBSESSIONS. DECORATION. SALIENT FACTS. 16 L auren Bush Lauren founded her charitable brand FEED in 2007, a bit less than two decades after her grandfather, George H.W. Bush, became President of the United States. After seeing childhood hunger firsthand while traveling with the UN World Food Program, Lauren created FEED to help end childhood hunger through the sale of FEED tote bags, the proceeds of which have provided more than 100 million meals to date. It was only a matter of time before FEED collaborated with Polo Ralph Lauren — the second Lauren in her name is courtesy of husband, David Lauren, son of Ralph Lauren. The Polo x FEED collection, which POLO x FEED launches at the end of July, features four chic styles in FEED's signature burlap and linen with leather trim — a tote bag, backpack, pouch, and cap, priced $65 to $165. Each features a stamp highlighting the number of meals the purchase provides to U.S. schoolchildren in need. "The design really reflects the burlap, heritage aesthetic of FEED but is also very on-brand for Polo," Lauren tells PaperCity. "We have come together with Ralph Lauren because they are such an iconic family brand. FEED's mission from day one has been to help children and families in need, so it was a natural fit in many ways. The Polo brand mixed with the FEED aesthetic is really powerful." What could be more stylish than that. Ralph Lauren, The Galleria, ralphlauren.com. Anne Lee Phillips I t's no secret that Post Oak Boulevard is being reimagined. We've all born the construction woes. Now it's being set with a new gem: a mixed-use development from the Zadok family that will include a 26,000-square-foot Zadok Jewelers, nearly double the size of the current store, which is located a few blocks down Post Oak Boulevard. Also included in the new development are two high-profile restaurants and luxury office space, for a total of 112,000 square feet. The name is 1801 Post Oak Blvd after its address — one previously held by Tony's restaurant, which moved to its Greenway Plaza-area location in 2005. Zadok Jewelers, founded in 1976, is currently located at 1749 Post Oak Boulevard. Helene and Dror Zadok and their sons, Jonathan, Segev, and Gilad, knew it was time to take their business to the next level. "We want the development to have a luxury feel, but not be intimidating," says Jonathan Zadok, which will be designed by Austin architect Michael Hsu (who has opened a Houston office). Groundbreaking is set for August, with turnover to tenants for buildout in the fourth quarter of 2020. The Zadoks hope for a September or October 2020 opening, but if it gets pushed back, you can expect the doors to open January 2021. "We're obviously not going to move during Christmas season," Jonathan says. "This is a mixed-use project blending retail, office, and restaurants together in a way that really works," Jonathan says. "I want all three aspects of the building to be equally important." In Hsu's design, a 26-foot-tall, drive- through arcade at street level protects guests from the elements and incorporates store entrances, and valet pickup and drop-off, in addition to a concierge lobby for three floors and 68,000 square feet of boutique office space above. The arcade is flanked on one side by the bi-level Zadok Jewelers, clad in native Texas cut stone. On the opposite side, two adjoining double-height restaurant spaces total a little over 11,000 square feet, with patios for outdoor dining.
