letter publisher ANNE LAHO 20 I t's hard to believe that we're already publishing the September issue and that 12 months have gone by, seemingly in the blink of an eye. Summer is coming to an end, kids are moving up a grade, and the holidays are right around the corner. Every August, when the temperature lingers around 100 degrees with enough humidity to curl even the straightest hair, I'm suddenly thrilled for fall's arrival. This fall marks PaperCity's 25th year of publishing, and my 15th year at the magazine. As I was unpacking boxes in my new house, I stumbled across my welcome letter from 2004, and it made me realize how special it's been to see the magazine grow over the years, from a broadsheet to perfect bound, with the addition of a beautiful website that delivers daily coverage. The relationships formed are what make it truly special — whether they are old friends from the magazine or the wonderful advertising clients I've had over the years. Some have retired or changed companies, but so many continue to be a part of my life — such as Geoffrey Westergaard, who recently retired as proprietor of Carl Moore Antiques but but has become a dear friend and has even given me a couple of pieces of sage advice on my new home. And, we continue to grow as a magazine. This month, we're celebrating the launch of PaperCity Fort Worth, published in September and March, with issues remaining on stands throughout the year. Some of Texas' most vibrant stars are from Fort Worth, and the town is full of history, character, beauty, and fabulous shopping. Have a fantastic fall! We look forward to exciting times ahead.
