MARK HIEBERT/HIEBERT PHOTOGRAPHY Art on the Avenue Preview and Auction Chair Sandi Seltzer Bryant Mary Lawler A venue CDC's annual art auction, Art on the Avenue, was its most successful to date, raising $220,000 toward the development of 20 new homes for working families — part of the nonprofit's goal of providing affordable housing, historic preservation and support to area artists. Before the main event, preview party chair Sandi Seltzer Bryant and Avenue CDC executive director Mary Lawler welcomed 300 art-seekers to Winter Street Studios. Two days later, honorary chair and Knobbie awardee David Mendez was among the thousand attendees who converged at the same venue for the auction itself. Supporting the arts: Tami Merrick, board prez Robert Fiederlein, Ann Rush, John Frels, Whitney Henderson, Jim Kirkpatrick, Jim Richards, and Terry Leavitt-Chavez.
