10 letter editor HUNT SLONEM A s the April issue leaves for the printer, the unbelievable has happened: COVID-19. As you read through this issue with articles on new restaurants, retail store openings, and art exhibitions, you will understand that many of these have more than likely been postponed. In most cases, the events and openings will happen at a later date. So, enjoy what's to come in Houston's restaurant, arts, charity, and retail scenes. Texas Design Week Houston and the PaperCity Design Awards have also been postponed, and we hope to reschedule for late May or early June for both. The entry site is open for the Design Awards, and the deadline to enter has been extended to Monday, April 27. Designers, look though your projects and enter at designawards.papercitymag.com! We will celebrate together in just a few months. For Texas Design Week Houston, we hope to have the same lineup of speakers, with a few modifications. Check the schedule at texasdesignweek.com; tickets are on sale. If you have purchased tickets to TXDW Houston, these will be valid for the new dates. As a company, our digital team is working hard to produce of- the-moment stories to highlight the good that is happening in the community and to illuminate some unique things to do during this stay-at-home period — who knew you could tour a museum from your computer or meditate online. We are working individually with our advertisers, especially those who are in the trenches working hard to keep their goods and services flowing during this slowdown. Perhaps you are seeing an increase of messages in your inbox from PaperCity, as we work to help those who need to connect their message with you in these times. Appreciate and help them, in an effort to try and achieve some sense of normalcy. We'll turn the corner — Americans always do — and we'll be stronger because of it. Strange days, indeed.
