letter publisher Jenny Antill Clifton W e're thrilled to share our December issue — the last issue of what has been a crazy year of ups and downs. The holiday season has always been one of my favorite times of the year, beyond the obvious exchange of gifts and Houston's "winter," which is really just a series of cold fronts. December is a time of reflection, a time to give to others, and a time to think about the exciting year ahead. This year has proven to be a trying one on all fronts, and I know we're all looking forward to what 2021 will bring. This issue highlights the best of the holidays — the annual gift guide, and fabulous jewels to wear to your intimate holiday parties. Deutsch Fine Jewelry's 10-page jewelry insert is filled with gorgeous pieces big and small — and something for every budget. As we move towards the New Year, it's important to take note of the hustle and bustle around us, proving that things are happening and that, as a city, we are growing. The real estate market is moving quickly, high-rises and homes are being built on every corner, and fabulous retailers are moving into Houston (Ballard Designs and CB2 to name but two) and will open soon. We wish each and every one of you a wonderful holiday season and a happy and prosperous New Year. Onward and upward! Monica Bickers Group Publisher monica@papercitymag.com 18
