Launched in 2019 as part of its broader initiative of environmental sustainability, the initial six-piece collection included familiar Prada bag silhouettes and now expands to ready-to-wear and footwear. Made from 100 percent sustainable regenerated nylon, each piece has been re-engineered from its original m a t e r i a l t o Econyl, a new material created b y r e c y c l i n g plastic waste O n Thursday, December 3, Prada drops its newest special- edition piece as part of Prada Timecapsule, the online program initially launched in December 2019. Each Timecapsule is available for only 24 hours via the prada.com website. The limited editions feature a distinct logo created by OMA, the architectural studio founded by Rem Koolhaas, as well as unique serial numbers and specialized p a c k a g i n g , m a k i n g each drop u n i q u e . W i t h only 50 items p e r drop, these sell out almost as soon as they launch. prada.com. C hanel's latest fine jewelry collection, The Icons of 1932, takes inspiration from Gabrielle Chanel's 1 9 3 2 B i j o u x d e Diamants, which was created as a minimalist collection to counter what she saw as ostentatious displays of luxury. The new Icons of 1932 consists of necklaces with pendants that transform into brooches, bracelets, rings, and a stand-alone brooch, each named for an element that comprises the stylistic vocabulary of the house: The Comet, The Sun, The Feather, The Ribbon, and The Lion (the latter, in homage to Mademoiselle Chanel's astrological sign). At the Chanel boutique, chanel.com. collected from oceans, fishing nets, and textile-fiber waste. This year's collection includes a slim-line tailored single-breasted overcoat for men, full-skirted cocktail dresses and cocoon-coats for women, and unisex sportswear.
