JUNE 7 – JULY 17 50th Round Top Music Festival. Festival Hill turns 50 this year and celebrates with six weeks of symphonic events, including the 50th Round Top Music Festival Young Artists in Residence, concerts, and master classes. Six guest conductors from North America, South America, and Europe perform. Rehearsals gratis, open to the public. SATURDAY, JUNE 12 Ro u n d Top Mu s i c Fe s t i va l Opening-Day Concerts. At 3:30 pm, the Opening Chamber Music Concert features compositions by Camille Saint-Saëns, Beethoven, and Jean Françaix. At 7:30 pm, guest conductor Gregory Vajda leads the Texas Festival Orchestra through works by Beethoven. Both take place at Festival Concert Hall. TUESDAY, JUNE 22 Young Persons' Concert. At 11 am, a concert geared to young people featuring Haydn's Toy Symphony and Saint-Saëns' Carnival of the Animals. Guest conductor Emilio Colón. At Festival Concert Hall. Gratis, reservations required. SATURDAY, JUNE 26 Mozart and Beethoven Concert. At 7:30 pm, a program featuring Mozart's Don Giovanni Overture, K. 527; Beethoven's Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 4 in G, Opus 58, with James Dick on the piano; and Mozart's Symphony No. 41 in C, K. 551. Guest conductor Fabio Mechetti. At Festival Concert Hall. SATURDAY, JULY 17 Closing Concert. At 7:30 pm, Texas Festival Orchestra performs its closing concert, featuring an all Beethoven program: Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 5 in E-flat, Opus 73, with James Dick on the piano; and Symphony No. 7 in A, Opus 92. Guest conductor Carl St. Clair. At Festival Concert Hall. SATURDAY, AUGUST 28 Chamber Music Trio. At 3 pm, a performance by violinist Chavdar Parashkevov, cellist Louis-Marie Fardet, and pianist Viktor Valkov. At Festival Concert Hall.
