W hen Round Top Fall Antiques Show unfurls, head to The Halles for a side of THE HALLES AS KUNSTHALLE public art. Continuing its commitment to a robust art program, The Halles will once again be the site of an engaging contemporary dialogue. Featured art headliners in the VIP Pavilion begin with Preston Gaines, fresh from his GERARDO VELASQUEZ Preston Gaines comes to The Halles. COURTESY THE ARTISTS Patricio Marin and Greg Goodman's Chromatic Distraction I, 2019-2021 Contemporary Arts Museum Houston residency and concurrently on view at Project Row Houses. Gaines, who wields a master's in architecture, has been disrupting the art world via his way with plants paired with sustainable furniture design, a series he will reconfigure for The Halles, supported by sponsor Piper Faust Fine Art (the curator who inaugurated the public art program at Round Top last spring). Sharing the spotlight with Gaines are Patricio Marin and Greg Goodman, both Burning Man veterans. Marin, a master of metal arts whose expertise has been enlisted by The Menil Collection and Houston Museum of Natural Science, collaborated with Goodman, a code poet who by day is a designer of high- performance industrial code systems. The result: the hypnotic, three- years-in- the-making light sculpture, Chromatic Distraction I. Then head over to Halle 6 to commission Bachman+Petrie (a collaboration between Chris Pierre Bachman and Nicole Petrie) for a Pop-inflected canvas. 115
