A LANVIN WONDERLAND at The Crystal Charity Ball's Ten Best Dressed Announcement Luncheon chairman Robyn Conlon Ball chairman Aileen Pratt Lana Andrews BY RACHAEL ABRAMS PHOTOGRAPHY DANA DRIENSKY T he Crystal Charity Ball committee spilled the luminous names of the Ten Best Dressed Women of Dallas with a brunch and an exclusive glimpse of the Lanvin Fall collection Vinnie Reuben (designer Alber Elbaz is celebrating 10 years at the helm!) during the muchanticipated announcement at Neiman Marcus Downtown. For the annual Crystal Charity Ball Fashion Show and Luncheon announcement — ink the big day, Thursday, September 6, in your planners — luncheon chairman Robyn Conlon showered the honorees with bubbly, bites and a trunk show of Lanvin's upcoming collection. Hint: For fall, Elbaz's wares will pop with molded neoprene, peplum skirts and sculpted leather. Conlon tapped Gene Jones — divulging she was with husband Jerry at an NFL meeting that day — as honorary luncheon chair. NM general manager Shelle Sills had the honor of declaring this year's women who, like the house of Lanvin, possess style and substance: Pat McEvoy, Tricia Besing, Lynn McBee, Nancy Carlson, Kim Miller, Ashley Tripplehorn Hunt, Nancy Carter, Dee Dee Lee, Pam Perella and Ellen Winspear, with Lana Andrews as the Hall of Fame honoree. The Crystal Charity Ball chairman Aileen Pratt gushed about the chance to drape the ladies in "the oldest and hottest" couture in Paris, as Lanvin reps Taylor Cotton and Scott Studenberg introduced les vêtements to voguish attendees Vicki Chapman, Paige Baten Locke, Gloria Martindale, Ola Fojtasek, Jennifer Dix, Daffan Nettle, Heather Esping, and Carol Spies. Matthew Koons BY CHRISTINA GEYER. PHOTOGRAPHY BRUNO. A rriving to Neiman Marcus Downtown for the Dallas Art Fair Kick-Off Party, it was unusually quiet inside the flagship's first floor — save for two blondes poised at the Commerce Street entrance, offering the following instructions: Please go down the hall and turn right at the yellow painting. The party will be outside. Indeed, the entire fête had been propped outdoors, spanning the roped-off section of Ervay Street that houses NM's window displays. Those very portholes were the party's main attraction, as Swiss artist Sylvie Fleury dressed them with her neon-lit pieces. Curated by Dallas John Contemporary director Peter Doroshenko and Sughrue curator Florence Ostende, the windows glowed with rainbow-hued, sculptural statements: Yes to all. Moisturizing is the answer. High heels on the moon. At dusk, troves partook in the alfresco spectacle, which boasted free-flowing Ruinart champagne and a food truck. "This is very un-Neiman's. I love it!" said Robin McBride of the party's out-of-the-ordinary setting and its hipster-meets-high-brow-art crowd. Spotted: Dallas Art Fair co-founders Chris Byrne and John Sughrue; top-tier NM types including Jim Gold, Karen Katz, Shelle Sills, Gabrielle de Papp, Ignaz Gorischek Sheryl and Sandy Marple; and guests Lauren Christensen, AdkinsLindsey and Patrick Collins, Allison Smith and Barry Green Whistler, Lynn and Lyle Burgin, Jay Shinn, Cassy and Trey Sands, Kirk Hopper, Jo Marie Lilly, and Marion and Nash Flores.
