by Caroline's grandfather, Burdette Keeland Jr., and a large 16th-century Japanese vessel mounted on a 1930s sculptor's pedestal that belonged to Italian artist Luciano Minguzzi. For the entryway, Wimmel selected a mirrored wall sculpture made from stainless steel and pressurized air by Zieta Studio in Poland. "I really like how it turned out," she says. "If we had placed a big, colorful painting there, it would have changed the whole mood of the house." These are quiet, refined interiors that make the most of beautiful materials, textures, and simple lines. "I'm not a pattern girl, and I don't use ornamentation through fabrics and wallpapers and decoration," Wimmel says. "I guess it's the architect in me."
