Legacy in Bloom B ritish heritage design firm Morris & Co. has teamed with Williams Sonoma on a collection of tabletop and kitchenware, due out mid-September. Seven iconic patterns from the Morris & Co. archives adorn a range of utensils, crockery, and linens. William Morris — designer, poet, environmentalist — was a key figure in the Arts and Crafts Movement of the 19th century, and his firm, founded in 1861, produced fabrics, wallpapers, carpets, tiles, and books in patterns inspired by nature. The collection with Williams Sonoma features some of Morris' best- known designs, such as Bluebell, a bold floral based on the woodland flower and created in 1870; Marigold, a dense, delicate foliage pattern from 1875; and Pimpernel, a swirling, energetic design William Morris Pillivuyt Basketweave porcelain dinnerware and Golden Lily linens, $15 to $40. Rebecca Sherman I t's a match made in cozy heaven: Houston designer Marie Flanigan has collaborated with Annie Selke for a collection of 45 rugs, bedding, pillows, and accessories optimal for layering. Flanigan noticed a gap in the market as she tried to source specific rugs, bedding, and pillows that align with her style and signature palette of sumptuous neutrals. Selke, with nearly 30 years of experience in the industry (Pine Cone Hill, Dash & Albert), was a natural fit. Inspired by Flanigan's love of nature and architecture, the collection comes in nuanced earth tones — creamy oatmeal, rich caramel, crisp white with dusty pink, oceanic blue, and forest green — and a wealth of interesting textures. "Every rug has multiple materials and weaves, so when sunlight brushes across them these beautiful textures come to life," says Flanigan, who loves adding area rugs to notoriously cold workaway rooms like laundry rooms to elevate the everyday. The collection was shot at Flanigan's catalog- perfect new home in Houston and launches Monday, September 12.
