R etail: In the Knox Neighborhood, Sid Mashburn (our favorite go-to men's store for classic khaki — it's always good to invest in at least one new pair a year) and Ann Mashburn (provider of our garden-party frocks) are moving from Knox Street to 4615 Cole Avenue, just behind Pottery Barn and across from soon-to-be Anchor Bar at the corner of Knox and Cole … At retail Mecca NorthPark Center, Sarah Flint has moved into a new space on level two between Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom. Here you'll find shoes constructed from the most exceptional m a t e r i a l s , f r o m triple-dyed Italian suedes to jacquards woven in 300-year- old British mills. Also at NorthPark, Buzz Maison Margiela opens its first Dallas boutique this fall. Watch this space for more details in our November issue … As part of your strategy this month, be sure to take part in North Texas' largest annual shopping holiday, benefiting Dallas-based family violence agency The Family Place: Yes, the signature Partners Card is on sale. We love whipping out our cards for savings throughout the metroplex, October 28 through November 6. One hundred percent of each $75 Partners Card purchased directly supports The Family Place, and in turn, shoppers receive a 20 percent discount at 700-plus retailers, as well as a 10 percent discount at participating restaurants. Purchase your cards online at familyplace.org. Social: There's not enough space here to share all the details of a very full social month (you can access our full calendar at papercity. com), but here are a few where you'll definitely find us … Celebrating its 28th year supporting Dallas nonprofits is Kappa Tablescapes, which brims with fabulous tables and floral displays created by 35 talented designers, event planners and boutiques, to be held Monday and Tuesday, October 10 and 11, at Dallas Country Club. Louise Griffeth is this year's Platinum Key honoree; Jan Hegi serves as honorary chair, with co-chairs Susan Glassmoyer and Victoria Snee. Beneficiaries are Behind Every Door, The Center for Integrative Counseling and Psychology, The Magdalen House, and The Senior Source … Wednesday, October 12, we'll be at Party in the Park, benefiting our beloved jewel of the Arts District, Klyde Warren Park … The next day, you'll find us at the Dallas Symphony Orchestra League's Fashion Notes, chaired by two fabulous West Coast transplants, Sharon Lee Clark and Kira Nasrat, and honoring another relative newcomer to our city, Lele Sadoughi … Premiering in Dallas this year during our fabulous season of soirées is the Farrah Fawcett Foundation's Tex-Mex Fiesta benefiting American Cancer Society and Stand Up to Cancer on Saturday, October 20. They're bringing in high-wattage singer/songwriter Sheryl Crow, a nine-time Grammy Award winner … Finally, one of the most glittering events of the season, TWO x TWO for AIDS and Art benefiting the Dallas Museum of Art and amfAR, ends our busy month of parties. This generally sold-out event (you must know someone in the know to secure an invite — get on that quickly) will once again take place at the Rachofsky House Saturday, October 22. Billy Fong YOUR EVER-BUZZY PAPERCITY BEE HAS LOTS TO REPORT THIS MONTH. HE'S GOT THE SWEET SCOOP ON WHAT'S PREMIERING IN DALLAS AND WHAT'S HAPPENING AT OUR FAVORITE HAUNTS. IF YOU SEE HIM AND HAVE SOME NEWS, BE SURE TO SHARE. Here and below, Maison Margiela Icons Collection
