WHAT THE BEST- DRESSED BEDS ARE WEARING AT LUXURY BED COLLECTION P anel moderator and founder of the Luxury Bed Collection Mary Pat Wallace didn't waste any time getting to the hard-hitting questions during the Best Dressed Beds lunch and discussion. The first question: Flipped or stacked? (Referring to pillow placement, of course). Panelists included the queen of the monogrammed bed, Leontine Linens founder Jane Scott Hodges, in from New Orleans; designers Javier Burkle of Burkle Creative; Mia Brous and Kerri Goldfarb, co-owners of Madre; Meredith Ellis, founder of Meredith Ellis Design and James Showroom; Fort Worth designer Trish Sheats; and Karen Pulaski, founder of Tribute Goods linens in from Houston. PC Seen: Luxury Bed's Tina Jeppesen, Talley Hodges, Marie Viet, Donna Riha, Tiffany Jones, Kendall Travis, Cleo Epley, Mimi Trahan, Lyndsay Kennedy, Courtney Genovese, Julie Koch, and Lloyd Princeton. THE IMPORTANCE OF IMPORTANT AT CANTONI TRADE N ew York designers Richard Mishaan and Stewart Manger dialogued in an illustrated panel on the importance of Important: Art, Furniture, and Objects moderated by Chesie Breen at Cantoni Trade's sprawling Design District Showroom. Both designers have new books out — Mishaan's third, Design: Architecture and Interiors (Vendome), and Manger's first, Romancing the Home: Stylish Interiors for a Modern Life (Rizzoli) — which they inscribed and signed following the talk. Mishaan, a member of the Elle Decor A List who began his career apprenticing for Philip Johnson, said that many of his clients are collectors, and he views his job as figuring out how to put it all together. Both he and Manger are skilled in the art of creating spaces that feel collected over time and share an appreciation for artisanal craftsmanship and both contend that in today's world of digital presentations and virtual design services, they nothing connects with a client better than a tote bag filled with physical samples they can see and feel. Cantoni Trade's Tony Smock welcomed Philip Gorrivan, Linda Fritschy, Vy Truong, Han Dang, Beth Bender, Stephanie Castellon, Liz Kamp, Morgan Daniels, Amira Windmiller, Mary Lambrakos, Hilary Nelson, Kendall Davis, and Tracy Ready.
