Sneak PEEK S pring is Philanthropy Season in Dallas, and there's no better way to kick off the season than with American Heart Association's annual Côtes du Coeur event. While Côtes du Coeur is a year-round celebration (Big Bottle Party, Côtes du Coeur Reveal Reception and Grand Tasting), the premier gala event on Saturday, April 29, is a culmination of community and company leaders alongside a unique collection of renowned wineries and chefs — all in celebration of AHA's mission as a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives. The fundraising bonanza, which is in its 32nd year, shattered records in 2022. To date, it's raised more than $55 million in mission investments. Each year, the celebration welcomes nearly 1,000 guests, more than 40 wineries, and eight celebrity chefs. It also has one of the largest fine wine auctions in the Southwest, making this a must-attend event for oenophiles. This year is no exception. The aesthetic is focused on bringing the Zen and tranquility of the outdoors in. There will also be an elaborate, luxurious silent and live auction, including items such as a lifetime VIP trip to the Kentucky Derby via private jet and an exclusive opportunity to fly to Champagne, France, for a stay in a 10-bedroom chateau. The 2023 event is co-chaired by Anne Chow and Bob Moore, dynamic leaders PAPERCITY ADVERTORIAL AT AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION'S CÔTES DU COEUR EVENING in the business and DFW philanthropic community. The couple is passionate about supporting the cause and leading others in the community to do the same, including providing a fresh vision for the legacy event. "There's nothing more important than matters of the heart," Chow says. "Heart disease is the number-one killer of adults in the United States, even though 80 percent of cases are preventable." American Heart Association is the nation's oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke. Heart disease is the number-one killer worldwide, and stroke ranks second globally. The nonprofit has invested more than $5 billion in research, making it the largest not-for- profit funding source for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease research next to the federal government. And its work is generating real results. There has been a 13.6 percent reduction in deaths from stroke and a 15.1 percent reduction in deaths from heart disease since February 2018. The organization has reached 12 million people with nutrition improvements in 44 communities, and more than 19 million people have benefited from AHA's Quality Care Initiative for High Blood Pressure.
