The Houston PaperCity Design Awards Celebration T he best and brightest in Houston's interior design and architecture community gathered at The Post Oak Hotel's Grand Ballroom for the annual Houston PaperCity Design Awards, recognizing winning projects across 18 categories ranging from residential interior design and architectural design to best in furniture, textile, and wallcovering design. Each winner was presented with a Baccarat award. This year's event was emceed by Newell Turner. The first order of the night was the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement in Historic Preservation Award to Salle Werner-Vaughn. Minnette Boesel, former director of the Mayor's Office of Cultural Affairs, presented the award to Werner-Vaughn for the artist's 35-year-long endeavor pre- serving Houston's Brunner-Harmonium Historic District.
