SIKES INTERIORS LOS ANGELES T his former hallway was a blank slate for designer Sara Hillery. After touring Tryon Palace in North Carolina, she was inspired to create a space that fostered conversation. Hillery commissioned Dana Gibson, illustrator Charles Dana Gibson's great-granddaughter, to create a handsome leopard artwork for the tearoom, which featured two bamboo tables from Canterbury Cottage Antiques, a small dealer in Nashville's Belle Meade neighborhood. The à la mode room can be whatever you need it to be, says Sikes. Inspired by the great rooms of Bunny Mellon, Billy Baldwin, and Hubert de Givenchy, the room highlighted special pieces acquired at auction from Givenchy's country retreat outside Paris, Le Jonchet, and his seaside villa, Le Clos Fiorentina on Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat.
