In other retail news: Luxury nirvana Highland Park Village is a hive of activity. As we previously announced, Agua by Aguabendita, popped up over the holidays and, due to its overwhelming popularity, is extending its pop through the end of March. The Colombian brand is known for lush prints and sustainability- minded swimwear. They were recently included in the Gucci vault and chose Dallas as their first retail space in the U.S. … On Saturday, March 23, put on your favorite labelicious sneakers for the Village's Spring Shopping Stroll. You'll find in- store pop-ups, complimentary customization services, and delectable food and beverage tastings, as well as faces painters and pics with visiting bunnies from 11 am to 2 pm … We were excited to hear that our go- to old-school Italian dining destination Fachini (by chef Julian Barsotti) is now open for lunch Tuesday through Saturday. Art: Who doesn't love regularly rotating through your art-books collection to display on your coffee table. One of our favorite events, which now seems to be an annual program, is the Dallas Art Book Fair hosted by the Dallas Contemporary. This year, it takes place Saturday and Sunday, March 16 and 17, during the museum's public hours, noon to 5 pm. As always, admission to the institution is free, and during those days, so are complimentary drinks to sip while you peruse the vast selection of tomes. You can also partake in enlightening conversations and readings with authors and artists, a makerspace for zine and printmaking workshops, live music, and culinary offerings from around Dallas … Over at Erin Cluley Gallery, check out "William Atkinson: On the Road" (through Saturday, March 23). The talented multi-hyphenate Dallas-based artist — a former police officer, gallery and artist-incubator founder, and now a full-time sixth-grade humanities teacher at St. Mark's School of Texas — has 54 debuted his second solo exhibition at the gallery. The title references the definitive tome of the postwar counterculture and Beat generations, and Atkinson's signature bold mark-making and e x p r e s s i v e g e s t u r e s a r e s p e w e d a c r o s s reappropriated found photography of a mid- century family's journey from Texas to Colorado. Social: January was dry and primarily event-free for most of us, then February had a few fun parties in the mix. But in March, it's ladies who lunch to the starting line. First off, we hope to see you at the Go Red for Women Luncheon Friday, March 8, at the Omni Hotel, which aims to eradicate cardiovascular disease as the number one health threat for women. The 20th anniversary experience, chaired by Stacy Nahas and Susan Wetzel, falls on International Women's Day; the perfect day to honor the women who built the foundation we stand on and look at the advancements on the horizon … Then it's time to throw on another Herrera day dress for the Texas Woman's University Dallas Leadership Luncheon and presentation of the Virginia Chandler Dykes Leadership Award Thursday, March 21. Honorees this year are Abby and Todd Williams, with funds raised going towards graduate student scholarships … On Friday, March 22, we'll be at the usually packed Hilton Anatole for the Chick Lit Luncheon. The benefit for Community Partner of Dallas is chaired by Cathy James and Lisa Ogle with honorary chair Christine McKenny. The speaker is usually a crowd pleaser (in 2023, Bravoholic's rejoiced when they got to see Lisa Vanderpump on stage), and this year is no exception with Rita Wilson coming to town … We close out the month with an evening gala for the Aging Mind Foundation Saturday, March 23, at the Thompson Dallas. AMF's mission is to raise money to fund scientific research that seeks the causes of Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia. This is the 10th anniversary of the always sold-out event, this year chaired by Carey Moen and James Cagle and appropriately titled "A Night to Remember." And great news: Our Smythson datebooks are filled with events for April including the much-anticipated solar eclipse viewing Monday, April 8, at Klyde Warren Park and the Dallas Museum of Art's Art Ball Saturday, April 20.
