Inside The Terminal's World of Wellness M uch of the excitement surrounding The Terminal at the Katy Trail — the mixed-use luxury development designed by Michael Hsu Office of Architecture in Dallas' Knox neighborhood, footsteps from Turtle Creek — has been discovering who would find a home within its architecturally striking walls. Notable designers have been quietly working with buyers to craft The Terminal's 16 unique residences; as we go to press, only four remain available, starting at $4 million. The first two floors, however, are open to the public, offering a mix of retail (Montauk-based Wyld Blue), restaurants led by Travis Street Hospitality's Stephan Courseau and chef partner Bruno Davaillon (Knox Bistro), and unique wellness concepts tailor-made for Dallas. "We had a lot of interest from national brands, but we wanted the tenants to feel more localized," says Blake Shipp of Capitol Peak Ventures; he and his wife, Lindsay Shipp, are the developers who own The Terminal with Laurie Sands Harrison, executive director of the Rosewood Corporation. Here, we break down the beauty and wellness game changers that recently debuted in The Terminal. Caitlin Clark 02 Dallas A fixture of Aspen for nearly two decades, O2 Dallas marks the brand's second studio, which is known for its Pilates and heated power yoga classes, as well as its emphasis on great teachers. "I wanted to have the best instructors in Dallas," says owner Brittany Van Domelen. "We have the best of the best in Aspen but that's a much smaller pool, so Dallas is really fun." O2's special programming in Dallas builds on the Aspen studio's penchant for hosting celebrity instructors. Confirmed guest instructors this fall include Katia Pryce of DanceBody and Raven Ross of Pilates Body by Raven. o2life.com. Knockout Beauty S ituated within O2, Knockout Beauty offers a petite retail boutique and a cozy treatment room — the brand's first in Texas. Founded by Cayli Cavaco Reck, a true-blue industry insider (Cayli is the daughter of two New York fashion legends; her mother, the late Kezia Keeble, and father Paul Cavaco created the global fashion PR powerhouse Keeble, Cavaco, Duka (now KCD Worldwide), and her parents both held fashion director and editor roles at Vogue, Allure, and Harper's Bazaar. Knockout Beauty is known for its edited collection of efficacious skincare products (current labels include Dr. Lara Devgan, Environ, and U Beauty) and customized facial treatments (the Signature Facial starts at $365). knockoutbeauty.com. T he 8,500-square-foot second-floor space in The Terminal is a clean- lined labyrinth with ultra-high-end equipment around every corner. From the red-light bed to the hyperbaric chambers, everything is the Ferrari of something. Billed as "a complete wellness ecosystem," Alive and Well (which also has a compounding pharmacy) may be the most comprehensive functional medicine destination in Dallas. There are numerous treatment rooms and areas, but the facet primed to grab the most attention is the Frequency Dome. The grand rounded room hosts meditation, breathwork, and mindfulness classes, as well as vibroacoustic therapy, a treatment that eases arthritis, fibromyalgia, and anxiety. "We're getting a projector that will hopefully make this feel like a small version of the Sphere in Las Vegas," says Alive and Well's Liz Swail, who owns the company with her husband, Michael Swail. aliveandwell.health.
