OBSESSIONS. DECORATION. SALIENT FACTS. Fashion In Residence: Beyond a plethora of brick-and-mortar boutiques in our fair hamlet, we often play host to fabulous pop- ups. Just in time for Dallas' busiest social season, we have two bringing in their latest offerings. First off, Oscar de la Renta will occupy the former Chanel temporary space popping open early this fall. You'll find ready-to-wear and accessories from the Fall 2024 collection, as well as a November bridal trunk show … This summer we had the pleasure of meeting Mark Nash, Anna Moore, and Billy Reeves from the Clements and Church team when they hosted a Wimbledon-themed cocktail party at the lounge on Hôtel Swexan's rooftop. Known for cut-to-perfection suits, luxe knitwear, and even bespoke jeans, the British line proudly offers "slow luxury." They make frequent trips across the pond, so secure an appointment for when they are in Dallas next, September 18 through 29. Send an email to dallas@ clementsandchurch.co.uk. Out And About: With one of the most temperate summers in recent memory coming to a close, we're contemplating al fresco activities. The Dallas Arboretum's Cool Thursdays Concerts are always a fun night out with friends. Pack a chic basket with some goodies picked up at Evan's Meat Market and a few bottles of wine from Café Duro and secure yourself a seat on the lawn for the most spectacular view of the sunset over White Rock Lake, not to mention a fun performance. The first performers on the September calendar are the adorably named Greggie and the Jets, an Elton John tribute band … For a performance you can attend any night of the week, head over to what's becoming known as Dallas' Town Square, Klyde Warren Park, and check out the Nancy Best Fountains after sunset. Marvel at the newly choreographed light and music show to dancing water, and if the mood strikes, go ahead and frolic. Just as children are encouraged to play in the 5,000-square-foot splash pad (which can accommodate hundreds at a time), adults can get their groove on each evening beginning at 7 and 8 pm. Social: Hopefully you didn't overindulge at the Surf Club in Montauk this summer (but if you did, we promise not to tell) and are rested up for the slew of activities this fall. We hope to see you at The Crystal Charity Ball Fashion Show and Luncheon at Neiman Marcus Downtown Thursday, September 12. We'll be suited up (and by suit, we mean Chanel, or maybe a perennially pretty outfit from this year's featured designer, Oscar de la Renta) for what often turns into a full day of fun — when you factor in gathering your group of girlfriends together for late-afternoon cocktails to dish on all you saw and heard at the event … On Saturday, September 14, it's time for Dallas Children's Advocacy Center's Art for Advocacy. This party raises funds and awareness for DCAC while celebrating the transformative healing power of art and is hosted by Stephanie and John Roberts. Secure your tickets for cocktails, a silent auction featuring 80 artworks, a seated dinner, and live art auction coordinated by event co- chairs Courtney Gilbert, Amy Grissen, and Holly Lawrence, with honorary chairs Katy and Kyle Miller … Then it's time to don something avant-garde for the Dallas Contemporary Gala Friday, September 20. This year chaired by Leigh Anne Clark and Kasey Lemkin, the annual event takes place at the museum in the Dallas Design District. Here you'll find the hippest aesthetes around bidding on pieces from world-renowned artists then dancing until the wee hours of the morning … For another afternoon of coveted runway looks, head to the KidneyTexas Luncheon and Fashion Show at Brook Hollow Golf Club on Tuesday, September 24. It's the nonprofit's 25th anniversary silver jubilee, with Lauryn Gayle White as honorary chair alongside chairs Claire Catrino and Kaleta Blaffer Johnson. KidneyTexas provides funding toward prevention, treatment, and the cure of kidney disease and other kindred or contributory diseases … It's never too early to shop for holiday decorations, so head to the Chi Omega Christmas Market at a new location — Dallas Market Center — Thursday through Saturday, September 26 through 28. The sorority's first market was held in 1978; that year, they raised $13,150. Since then, they have raised $10.4 million and granted funds to 146 beneficiaries who better the Dallas community … Finally, we end our month by putting on our best pair of boots and heading out to South Fork for Cattle Baron's Ball Saturday, September 28 — this year themed New Horizons and headlined by the one and only Carrie Underwood. We don't toss around the term blockbuster loosely, few other words adequately describe this colossal party. Over the past 50 years, they've raised more than $98 million to support cancer research. Epicurious: For off-the-menu fun, make a reservation for the Drifter Dinner Series at Quarter Acre. Each month, top chefs from around the country collaborate with in-house maestro Toby Archibald to create an eight-course tasting menu complemented by wines and spirits. Dallas chef Matt McCallister joins the kitchen Friday, September 13. Seating is limited; tickets are $495 per diner. Billy Fong BUZZ YOUR EVER-BUZZY PAPERCITY BEE HAS LOTS TO REPORT THIS MONTH. HE'S GOT THE SWEET SCOOP ON WHAT'S PREMIERING IN DALLAS AND WHAT'S HAPPENING AT OUR FAVORITE HAUNTS. IF YOU SEE HIM AND HAVE SOME NEWS, BE SURE TO SHARE.
