D allas' charity circuit is in full swing. You'll find us first at The Family Place's Texas Trailblazer Awards Luncheon at the Hilton Anatole on Friday, October 4. For almost a decade, this event has raised more than $5 million for survivors of domestic violence … Also on October 4, we'll don a fabulous outfit for SPCA of Texas Fur Ball at the Frontiers of Flight Museum. It's presented this year by Nancy C. and Richard Rogers and chaired by Katy and Lawrence Bock, so expect to see ferociously fashionable lovers of the four-legged set … On Wednesday, October 9, meet us for the first TACA Fall Arts Crawl, titled Raven's Night in homage to Edgar Allan Poe's famous poem. Mark your calendar for the next two Arts Crawls as well: Autumn Fair at Fond on Monday, October 28, and Flor Y Canto on Friday, November 15. Thursday, October 10, begins with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra League's Fashion Notes Luncheon and Fashion Show featuring Esé Azénabor at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. That evening, we'll don our floral frocks and garden-party blazers for Party in the Park, benefiting Klyde Warren Park. You'll find us dancing to the tunes of Straight Tequila Night alongside honorary chair Lyda Hill and chairs Jennifer and John Gates, Michelle and John Grimes, Amy and Jamie Mentgen, Stephanie and Todd Phillips, and Jenny and Jeff Staubach. Next, we'll catch up with our Kappa Kappa Gamma girlfriends at the Kappa Tablescapes cocktail party on Monday, October 14, and the luncheon on Tuesday, October 15, both at Dallas Country Club. This year's honorary chair is Ann Barbier- Mueller; Heather Furniss is the Platinum Key honoree. The keynote speaker is Carolina Herrera creative director Wes Gordon … On Friday, October 18, the Wilkinson Center hosts Pantry in the Park at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, with cocktails, bites, and a silent auction … On Saturday, October 19, it's off to one of the most sought- after (and sold-out) tickets: TWO x TWO for AIDS and Art Gala and Auction at the Rachofsky House. This year's gala will likely be even more star-studded than usual, given that it's the swan song. Yes, after 25 years, you'll have one last chance to dance the night away with the jet set and bid on works by the most coveted contemporary artists. Then it's time for Texas Design Week Dallas, Monday through Friday, October 21 through 25 — a fabulous week filled with a glamorous roster of interior designers and architects … This week also sees the launch of the fifth annual Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas at 2999 Turtle Creek Boulevard; VIP opening is Thursday, October 24. Kips Bay President's Dinner on Wednesday, October 23, is sold out! … On Friday, October 25, we hope to see you at the Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas' Women of Distinction Luncheon. The 20th anniversary event, held at the Hilton Anatole, celebrates outstanding individuals for their service in the community and investment in girls and women in Northeast Texas. Family Fun: Bring the kids to the Nasher Sculpture Center Sunday, October 27, for The Great Create. Retail Reconnaissance In Highland Park Village, we're still waiting with bated breath for updates a b o u t w h e n D i o r will debut (possibly November) in the space formerly occupied for years by Ralph Lauren. But in the meantime, Sarah Bottega Veneta Fall 2024 at The Conservatory Social Buzz Means and Lizzie Means Duplantis, the duo behind Dallas boot brand Miron Crosby, have renovated their flagship boutique above Rag & Bone. Designer Carrie White oversaw the reimagining of the space, which now has a vintage ambience (a nod to the sisters growing up on a fifth-generation West Texas cattle ranch). Shop for your next pair of boots while sipping our drink of choice: ranch water … The Conservatory has Bottega Veneta "in residence" through Tuesday, October 22: an installation inspired by the Fall/ Winter 2024 collection with a Le Corbusier LC 14 Intrecciato leather stool (which is being donated to TWO x TWO for AIDS and Art) and six wooden versions that were used by guests at the runway show … Over at NorthPark Center, Prada is on track to open mid-November. We'll share more details once it debuts … Stanley Korshak has a packed fall season. Save the date for Korshak's Cowboy Cool event Friday and Saturday, November 8 and 9, with western-themed trunk shows, country music, and goodies from Dickey's Barbecue Pit, and for the PaperCity X Stanley Korshak Holiday Kick- Off Party Wednesday, November 20, 5 to 7 pm, with lots of fun and surprises. There's more in store for November, which we'll reveal in our next issue … Finally, one of my favorite American heritage brands, the 127-year-old Seattle-born Filson, is opening a store within a store (Shinola, to be exact) in Plano. The rugged accessories and clothing are not only perfect for the Pacific Northwest, but equally well-suited for the wide-open spaces and ranch life of Texas.
