I nterior designer and lifestyle master Nathan Turner has built his reputation on updating traditional style with soft, serene colors and preppy patterns. And this fifth-generation Californian has never (well, rarely ever) met a print he didn't like — as evidenced by his first textile and wallpaper collection, available at James showroom. The California Collection harnesses the beauty of the Golden State and includes a dynamite cowboy chintz. As explored in his latest design book, Nathan Turner's I Love California: Live, Eat, and Entertain the West Coast Way, Turner is always in a West Coast state of mind. "I grew up in the Bay Area, but my family has a cattle ranch at the foothills of the Sierras, which was a huge part of my childhood and my life," he says. "We have this western cowboy culture, which people don't think of when you think California." Turner will show his new textile and wallcovering collection and sign his book Friday, October 11, 11 am to 1 pm, at the James Cabana at Red Antler, 137 Gretchen's Way, Round Top. RSVP to info@redantlerroundtop.com.
