OBSESSIONS. DECORATION. SALIENT FACTS. Retail: It's been an exciting year of heavy- hitter fashion openings in Dallas with the spring unveiling of the two-story Chanel boutique, as well as Loewe and Chloé in Highland Park Village. And the Christian Dior team tells us that the expanded Dior (in the former Ralph Lauren space) is set to open hopefully before the holidays. While wandering the Village, be sure to pop into the Jenni Kayne pop- up (through Spring 2025). The California lifestyle brand rooted in minimalism offers clothing, accessories, home, and apothecary, as well as the Oak Essentials skincare line … Over at NorthPark Center look for the debut of Prada late this month. We promise to share more details once it's thrown open the grand, likely minimalist doors. We'll also make our annual visit to the The Trains at NorthPark (November 16, 2024, through January 5, 2025), benefiting Ronald McDonald House of Dallas … Finally, we love staple pieces, and our go-to is Uniqlo. The Japanese line that has an oh- so affordable price point has debuted at the Galleria (one of three new stores opening in DFW). The subject line on a QG email had me intrigued: "Fellas, the Uniqlo U Women's Section Has Us Down Real Bad." Yes, it's been happening for years, where even some of the more conservative boys have crossed the aisle to peruse offerings in the girl's section. Uniqlo's exhibition at the Pavillon Vendôme, which premiered at the tail end of Paris Fashion Week, was a signal toward its increasing luxury ambitions. On the occasion of the 40th anniversary and the announcement of its new creative director, Clare Waight Keller, who was most recently artistic director of couture and ready-to-wear at Givenchy, Uniqlo hopes to become more than a mass-market apparel name. Social: September and October left us breathless, but our Smythson datebooks remain full with no end in sight to the lunches and galas. The November events where you'll definitely find us begin with Zoo To Do on Saturday, November 2. Themed Safari Noir, it will be a wild affair; we suggest wearing a Ralph Lauren African safari ensemble as you roam the zoo's expansive grounds and catch up with fellow animal lovers … We'll also be at Chefs for Farmers' The Main Event, returning for its 14th year Sunday, November 3, at Old City Park. It's an afternoon of delectable bites from some of the most popular restaurants, BUZZ YOUR EVER-BUZZY PAPERCITY BEE HAS LOTS TO REPORT THIS MONTH. HE'S GOT THE SWEET SCOOP ON WHAT'S PREMIERING IN DALLAS AND WHAT'S HAPPENING AT OUR FAVORITE HAUNTS. IF YOU SEE HIM AND HAVE SOME NEWS, BE SURE TO SHARE. as well as some up-and-coming ones, along with chardonnays and pinot noirs from exceptional wineries … On Thursday, November 7, An Evening with DocStars, presented by the Michael and Abby Gregory Foundation, celebrates the future of medicine with interactive stations and updates on the latest medical a d v a n c e m e n t s b e t w e e n cocktails and gourmet bites … On Saturday, November 9, we're double-booked. Pegasus Contemporary Ballet's Forever For A Moment is a one-of-a- kind art and dance experience launching the company's 2024/2025 season. Dancers create live- motion paintings with their choreographed movements, which will be captured by an artist on-site; at the end of the evening, leave with a framed memory of the experience. That same night, you'll also see our science-nerd alter-ego come out for Perot Museum of Nature and Science's Night at the Museum, an extravagant night of exploration and engaging experiences … Then it's over to the always verdant Dallas Arboretum for A Writer's Garden Symposium and Luncheon Wednesday, November 13, at Rosine Hall. The annual event benefits the Women's Council of the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden and A Woman's Garden. Drumroll, please: Featured speaker is one of our favorite British boys, interior designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard … Friday, November 15, is another busy night, as we dash from the TACA Fall Arts Crawl: Flor y Canto to the FGI Dallas Night of Stars at The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas … Things slow down as we head into the Thanksgiving holidays. Join us at the Stanley Korshak and PaperCity Happy Y'all-idays party on Wednesday, November 20. Crawford Brock and his team of elves always throw a shindig that gets us in the most festive of moods … Thursday, November 21, will find us at the AT&T Performing Arts Center's Bravo! Gala at the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House, and clapping for the winning design projects at the PaperCity Design Awards at the Virgin Hotels Dallas ballroom … We end our week with the Hope Party, benefiting the Grant Halliburton Foundation Friday, November 22. The host committee is filled with our most fashionable clique (wink- wink, Danielle, Zoe, Kara, Brian, and Jennifer), so we'll be busting out the Saint Laurent that's been begging to come out and be seen.
