Texas Forever: David Yarrow at Samuel Lynne Galleries L ela Rose's newly redesigned flagship store in Highland Park Village is a highly personal reflection of the Dallas-born fashion designer's life and personal taste, with interior design elements that pay homage to her family and Texas roots. She collaborated on the renovations with Studio DB, a New York design firm that gravitates to the creative set, A n exhibition by U.K.- based photographer David Yarrow is always a grand occasion. His dual b o d i e s o f w o r k — the wild-animal kingdom and human tableaux spun around storytelling — are collected by celebs and connoisseurs alike, including Tom Brady and Cindy Crawford, one of his muses. The lensman boasts impressive Sotheby's six-figure auction records, too, for The Wolf of Main Street in 2018 and 78 Degrees North this fall. Yarrow's current solo at his exclusive Texas dealer — Samuel Lynne Galleries, which is also the photographer's number- one selling gallery globally — takes on Texas tropes in "It's a Wonderful World." While the exhibition also presents recent narratives shot in Europe, the Texas vignettes steal this show. Among the indelible photographs in his Lonestar series: Bevo in front of The University of Texas tower in Hook 'em Horns; a sexy bar scene at the mythic White Elephant Saloon, Fort Worth, which dates from 1884; and Texas Holdem with its staged poker game played between Dallas Cowboy QB legends Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman in the Y.O. Steakhouse, Dallas. Through December 31, Samuel Lynne Galleries at Thompson Dallas hotel (205 N. Akard St.), and Dallas Design District (1105 Dragon St.); samuellynne.com. Catherine D. Stanley Korshak has a rare personal appearance by Sylva Yepremain and trunk show of Sylva & Cie Thursday - Saturday, December 5 – 7. And, if you want to shop amidst holiday merriment, the Chamberlain Ballet is performing The Nutcracker Thursday, December 5, and the Highland Park High School marching band parades through the store Friday, December 13. Finally, if you've been more nice than naughty, head to Grange Hall. We suggest asking Santa for an exquisite bauble from Reza. Grange is the only boutique outside New York City offering this coveted and collected jewelry. The Reza family's expertise with gemstones dates to the 18th century when they were appointed custodians of the Persian Empires Treasury. Centuries later, Alexandre Reza created the esteemed jewelry house, known for p re c i o u s s t o n e s in extraordinary d e s i g n s — t h e perfect talisman for a dramatic entrance into 2025. Billy Fong Retail Reconnaissance Lone Star Lela Rose with clients that include film directors and producers. The Dallas store's refreshed interiors are a fun backdrop for her in-house labels — Lela Rose Bridal, Pearl by Lela Rose, and Lela Rose Ranch, previously only available at her Jackson Hole store. The western-inspired capsule collection includes vintage embroidered suede jackets and turquoise belt buckles sourced by Rose. To set the tone, a clever entry table hangs from the ceiling by ropes, the swinging display inspired by a suspended dining table in Rose's TriBeCa apartment. Breeze-block walls made from decorative concrete blocks are a nod to her mother, Deedie Rose's Antoine Predock- designed house in Dallas, and bird accents from Catherine Hayes Studio are a tribute to her late father, Rusty Rose, a passionate birdwatcher.
