Jim Kastleman JACK THOMPSON T he timing of the fall and spring Round Top Antiques and Design Show in the last decade has been a bit of a challenge. Historically, dates were somewhat written in stone by the show founder, Emma Lee Turney. The Big Red Barn and Marburger then did some jockeying for position. The Fall 2024 show saw confusion as other venues did some date-shifting. More than anything, the customers suffered because the venues weren't aligned. The good news is that all venues are now collaborating, and hopefully, there will be no confusion for the foreseeable future. Go to roundtop. com to get the schedule and any other information you need. Finally, isn't it great to have the election behind us! We all had winners and losers — that's the way it works — and you just need to accept it, whatever side you're on. I've always been patriotic, but something touched me this election cycle, and I can't explain it. All I know is that I'm happy to live in the United States of America. In Round Top and Fayette County, there's certainly a wide variety of political views. It's refreshing that, for the most part, neither side seems to impose its will on the other — we all just coexist, share a beer, watch parades, and run in the same circles. And that makes me happy to be part of Fayette County, too. Have a safe and happy holiday season and see you at the Winter Show.
