A
hearth of history transformed
into a boutique hotel, this
1,000 year-old castle situated
on Italy's Umbria-Tuscany
b o rd e r i s a ro m a n t i c 's
dream destination. Count Antonio Bolza
purchased the 3,700-acre estate in 1994;
his son, architect Count Benedikt, has since
converted it into Castello di Reschio, a
sprawling getaway with 36 bedrooms and
eight private homes. A labor of love, the
hotel incorporates furnishings crafted by
its own patron, via Count Benedikt's B.B.
for Reschio collection of bespoke beds and
lighting. The true gem of the countryside
estate is the equestrian center and theater,
home to 40 purebred Andalusian horses
which guests may ride and learn the art of
dressage. reschio.com. Jenna Baer
