"We're moving to Dallas," said Arnold, while Romanek looked a bit askance. Takeaway: Romanek's clients include Gwyneth Paltrow, Demi Moore, Jay-Z, Kelly Rowland, Molly Sims, and Rachel Zoe, to name a few. Highlights: One of the most original and respected designers working today (AD100 Hall of Fame and Elle Decor A-List), Michael S. Smith's salon talk at the Mansion sold out. Appointed by President Obama to serve on the Committee for the Preservation of the White House, Smith looked very presidential himself standing at the podium in a natty navy suit. What: Following Michael S. Smith's salon talk, the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek hosted a cozy southern supper in the Mansion Library, with a crackling fire and a table of famous faces from the design world. Highlights: The last to arrive? Michael S. Smith and entourage, with the best reason: After penning his fingers to the bone signing hundreds of books, he uncramped his hand in time to clutch a stiff drink. What: Frederic magazine's senior design editor Hudson Moore led the panel Designer Insider Secrets with CeCe Barfield Thompson, Javier Burkle, Bryan Yates, Courtnay Tartt Elias, at Visual Comfort & Co. What: Salon Talk and Afternoon Wine with India Hicks, at Cowtan & Tout. Highlights: Brilliant India Hicks is the daughter of legendary designer David Hicks and Lady Pamela, and her mother is the daughter of the 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma and the last viceroy of India, first cousin to Prince Philip, and was a bridesmaid and lady-in-waiting to Queen Elizabeth II.
