OBSESSIONS. DECORATION. SALIENT FACTS. Shop Swoon, IRL Shape Shifters Sail Away O n the heels of launching their online store, designers Sam Sano and Joslyn Taylor — the force behind Swoon, the Studio — have opened a new brick-and-mortar retail store at The Joule hotel. Shop Swoon carries ceramics, housewares, gifts, vintage pieces, paintings, photography, and sculptures, all sourced during the team's extensive travels. The 530-square-foot store embodies Swoon's preference for natural materials. Sculptural stone and wood vessels and artful lighting are displayed on custom wood plinths, while wood shelves display pantry delicacies such as pink mountain salt, organic olive oil, and balsamic vinegar along with stoneware, pottery, and glass dining pieces. A Noguchi light sculpture takes center stage alongside small handcrafted pendants made from palm silk fiber, originally created for their room at Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas. "The store is a physical manifestation of the online shop, so the items will be an edit of what's available online," Sano says. "We'll also have special one-of-a-kind and vintage pieces unique to the store, so shopping in person is a must." Shop Swoon is a new phase in Swoon's long- standing partnership with The Joule and Headington Companies. The designers rebranded The Joule in 2014 and have since collaborated with Headington on numerous concepts, including The Eye Ball, a highlight of Dallas Art Week. "The creativity and constant vibrant pulse that flows through the hotel are special to us and to downtown," Taylor says. "We couldn't think of a better place to bring the physical manifestation of Shop Swoon to life." Shop S w o o n , s h o p s w o o n . com. I nspired by classic biker jackets, Louis Vuitton's latest signature bag, the LV BIKER, is meant to harness a bit of our wild side. Made of lambskin leather, the bag sports several straps and two handles, allowing it to be worn as clutch, across body, on the shoulder or however you see fit. If its styling cues feel slightly aggressive, its soft structure tones these down, resulting in a bag with the personality of a chameleon, able to shift and shape depending on mood and circumstance. Designed by Nicolas Ghesquière, artistic director of women's collections, it's available in three sizes and a variety of colors. Some things speak for themselves. Louis Vuitton's latest Shopper Tote MM is exactly that — easy to have around, handy to carry, with a distinctive look, and eminently practical. As tote's go, this plays second fiddle to none. Made of incredibly soft cowhide leather, it's an easy add for your next short journey. At Louis Vuitton.
