OBSESSIONS. DECORATION. SALIENT FACTS. Real Estate: Car-dominiums? We normally don't go into Dallas' version of Monopoly with streets like Armstrong Parkway and Strait Lane, but when we heard about Maranello's luxury auto garage, we were intrigued. The 200,000-square-foot facility in Plano will sit on more than 11 acres of land. Yes, if you care for your luxury automobile the way I do about my luxury tote collection (meaning, you want to keep them in pristine condition), consider getting yourself one of the spaces that will be ready in 2026. Each condo includes a steel mezzanine and stairs with full utilities, allowing owners to build out their dream garage with glass garage doors that open into the facility's interior so you can visit with all the other vroom-vroom enthusiasts, no matter the weather. Spring has Sprung: We love an intriguing name, so when we heard about the seventh annual Tulipalooza, we investigated. Head to Waxahachie through March 16 for a festival showcasing more BUZZ By Billy Fong Here and above, 12 Days of Thompson than 300,000 of the Dutch flowers. The colorful benefit for eight local charities was founded by John Poston in 2018 as an extension of his work with Daymark Living, a nonprofit serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. There will also be food vendors, entertainment, and — of course — endless photo-worthy settings. Social: January and February were relatively calm but get ready for things to pick up in March and April. First out of the gate is our beloved Jewel Charity Ball at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth on Saturday, March 1. This is one of the most glamorous evenings of the year, where you can feel like Cinderella, since glass slippers are never out of place … Next is an annual event we always look forward to: Go Red For Women Luncheon on Friday, March 7, at the Fairmount Dallas hotel. The event educates women to take charge of their heart health … The next luncheon where we hope to see you in your most fun Oscar day dress is Chick Lit Luncheon on Friday, March 28 at the Hilton Anatole. The annual event is the largest fundraiser for Community Partners of Dallas, a nonprofit dedicated to meeting the urgent needs of children who have experienced abuse or neglect. We can't wait to see who luncheon co-chairs Alison Malone and Kelley Schadt will have on stage … We end our month in a neon party frock with oversized shoulders for an '80s flashback at Broadway Dallas' Back to the Future Gala on Saturday, March 29. VIP ticket holders will also attend a performance of the eagerly anticipated Back to the Future musical. In Fort Worth News … Love is in the air. Yes, Tim Love, the multi-hyphenate restaurateur and apparently croquet-phile will soon open his latest concept, Stewart's Croquet & Cocktails. We recently did a staycation at his Hotel Otto in Fort Worth's River District, along the Trinity Trail, and learned of this new ode to his favorite childhood sport. Stewart's (named for his father, Stewart Love) is adjacent to the Otto and its in-house restaurant, Gemelle. We promise to give more deets after our next round of bubbly and balls (as we now refer to champagne and croquet). Our friends to the west are buzzing about The Nobleman F o r t Wo r t h , Ta p e s t r y Collection by Hilton, in the Magnolia Avenue area of Fort Worth, along with its restaurant concept, Duchess. Owner Jeff Blackman lives in Dallas and has corralled local investors for the property, set to open any day now, which is centered around the original No. 5 Fire Station, built in 1911. Also, in boutique-hotel news, plan a stay at The Crescent Hotel, Fort Worth. It was named the No. 1 hotel in Texas by Conde Nast Traveler's Readers' Choice Awards in 2024. Watch for the story in our April Arts issue — and spend some time at Canyon Ranch in situ. While you're in Fort Worth, save one dinner for the newest concept from Michelin-recognized Duro Hospitality (The Charles, Bar Charles, Sister, El Carlos Elegante, Cafe Duro, Casa Duro, Mister Charles): The Chumley House, created by Chas Martin and Benji Homsey. Their first venture outside Dallas has a British twist. A year and a half ago, Martin and Homsey found inspiration while eating their way through London — not because of the cuisine, but because the British dining scene reflects the multicultural character of the city. Homsey says, "It's not that Fort Worth screams 'London' or 'European-inspired steakhouse,' but we wanted to do something that would allow us to be interesting and make left turns on the menu." Come for the dry-aged prime bone-in rib-eye and stay for sticky toffee pudding with rum caramel and gelato. Given that the interiors were created by Sees Design, it's also a feast for the eyes. Coming this fall within walking distance of the Crescent Hotel, you'll be able to shop at Forty Five Ten's Fort Worth outpost. They're hoping to open by September, just in time for holiday shopping and snagging a Jewel Charity Ball gown. And, great news for Fort Worth ladies who lunch: There will be a dining spot similar to the oh-so chic Mirador. In other shopping news, Fort Worth It-girl Janis Brous is experimenting with repurposed pearl-snap shirts called Le Snap and recently embarked on making sterling- silver decorative spurs called Le Spur. Creativity runs in the family, as her daughter-in-law, Mia Brous, owns Madre. One of our favorite It-girls, Brooke Hortenstine, was outfitted in Janis' shirts and spurs for Fort Worth Rodeo events. If you want to steal her style, check out the collection at Chieffalo Americana in FW. Billy Fong The Study at Chumley House MANNY RODRIGUEZ 38
