had to be taken apart to fit through the door. Ford laments happily, "Every treasure we find turns into a demo." The interiors' simple white palette and rustic wood furnishings skew more Leanne Ford than Grace Mitchell, which "just felt right for this project," Mitchell says. "Leanne and I are completely in sync — we're like each other's best clients." Here, it's go big or go home. A pair of 15-foot slipcovered sofas Ford designed for Crate & Barrel and a rambling raw- wood coffee table dominate the main living area. "We didn't need a lot of stuff going on; truthfully we just have a boatload of sofa and one massive table in this little house, and it does the trick," Ford says. A total of twenty-six vintage globe sconces illuminate every room in the house, eliminating the need for overhead lighting. They discovered the sconces while shopping a favorite vendor, Leftovers Antiques in Blue Hills at Round Top. While they initially only wanted four, the dealer wouldn't break up the set of 30, so they bought them all and ended up using most of them. "They cast such a beautiful glow," Mitchell says. "Honestly, it just feels like one big exhale when you walk in the door." The 1,800-square-foot farmhouse has three bedrooms and six beds that sleep up to eight. Hostie Vacation Rentals manages the property, with rates starting at $520 per night. More guest houses are under construction, including a barn that came with the property and an old Texas shack they trucked in. "It's going to be a little compound," Ford says. "We love bringing old spaces back to life." Clockwise: The primary bath's vintage steel shower door is from Jardin de France, Round Top. Marble tub from Architectural Artifacts, Round Top. Tub filler from Brassna. French doors from Antiques & Vintage Texas, Forney. 65
