Country High ROUND TOP SPONSORED PARTNER INSIDE VIEW O ne of the newest venues in the Round Top area, High Country brings a mix of vintage Native American jewelry, American antiques and vintage pottery, folk art, textiles, and more to Carmine. The 1,600-square foot showroom houses Debra Sherman Folk & Fine Art and The Flow Blue King, as well as primitives, early American furniture, imported lighting, early devotional and cowboy art, and rare pieces of flow blue earthenware. Venue owner Debra Sherman has been a Native American art dealer for 45 years. The California native has visited Round Top regularly for nearly three decades, often showing at The Original Round Top Antiques Fair (aka Big Red Barn). She also participated in the inaugural Round Top Folk Art Festival at The Compound last summer. She and her husband, Lee, made a permanent move to Round Top in 2021, building out a new main gallery on their property. Sherman's space inside the main gallery is comprised of pieces that hark back to her decades-long Colorado Where History Lives ranch lifestyle, including antique and vintage equestrian equipment such as saddles, chaps, bridles, spurs, and bits. You'll find these on display inside the gallery, along with handmade basketry and vintage western clothing. A second phase of High Country is currently under construction, with Sherman's new Dancing Wolf Gallery opening in time for the Spring 2025 Antiques & Design Show. The 900-square -foot gallery is located inside a renovated antique house on the property. The third and final phase of High Country includes the construction of six 10- by 18-foot cottages, which will be rented to vendors who offer authentic goods that complement the High Country aesthetic. A group of select sellers will occupy the cottages seasonally for now; Sherman hopes to eventually fill them with vendors year-round. She has brought in new merchandise from Colorado in time for the spring show, including antique jewelry, furniture, artwork, and more. Find High Country at 1720 SH 458, Carmine.
