Mitchell says, "Round Top is special; there's no other place like it in the world. We both wanted to be a part of the town — locals. We even have library cards now." They visit off-season, which allows them to rent out the farmhouse during Round Top's thrice- yearly antiques shows, when the town swells from 90 to more than 100,000 people. A stylist turned interior designer, Leanne Ford first caught the public's imagination when she turned a 1907 schoolhouse in her hometown of Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania, into a house. The project was featured in Country Living magazine in 2015 and showcased the white-on-white color palette and raw, neutral materials that have become her signature. Calls from HGTV followed, and she has starred with her brother Steve Ford on two of the network's shows, Restored by the Fords and Home Again with the Fords. She's also designed collections for Crate & Barrel and Target. Grace Mitchell's design blog, A Storied Style, garnered writing gigs for Domino and Better Homes & Gardens and a turn writing for Home Made Simple on the OWN channel. The founder of Storied Style Interiors, Mitchell's work was chronicled in the HGTV series One of a Kind. The show followed her over two seasons as she helped clients create their own design stories with collectibles and personal treasures After buying the farmhouse in Round Top, Ford says they thought, "'Oh my gosh, this is such a cute house. We don't have to do a ton to make this special' — so, of course, we gutted it." Rooms were reconfigured, but most of what gives the farmhouse soul was retained, including the old beadboard walls and ceilings. The 1,800-square-foot farmhouse has three bedrooms and six beds that sleep up to eight. Hostie Vacation Rentals manages the property, with rates starting at $520 per night. More guest houses are under construction, including a barn that came with the property and an old Texas shack they trucked in. "It's going to be a little compound," Ford says. "We love bringing old spaces back to life." Clockwise: Original beadboard in the kitchen was salvaged. In the living room, Ever sofas by Leanne Ford for Crate & Barrel.
