My studio there isn't just a workshop, it's a conversation with artisans and traditions. Mistakes, detours, and improvisations are part of the process. It's taught me to treat craft as a living language, always evolving. Perfectly imperfect. CW: Fingerprints, seams, impressions … Those are negotiations between me and the material. They show that the object has lived a life before the viewer meets it. I find that honesty is more intimate than polish. It collapses distance: you can feel the maker's touch in the work. Breaking it down. CW: Color is energy — it's joy, sometimes excess. Colombia amplifies that for me; color is everywhere, from markets to architecture. Playfulness is about giving objects personalities, so they feel like companions rather than dead weight. Both are ways of breaking down the stiffness of design.
