Letter from the Editor I pen this correspondence to you late in the evening (at this stage of my life, "late" means midnight), as I have just returned from the new incarnation of the Dallas Museum of Art's Art Ball — now under the moniker of Collection Gala. By my side as my partner in cocktail crimes (or rather, the Ashley to my Mary Kate this evening) is Joshua Rossignol. As we pour one last glass of wine to recap our night, I share that I am behind on getting this written and after chastising me, he proclaims, "Write it now." It's hard to focus on what to share with you with so much happening this fall. This feeling of being all over the map seems eerily reflected with my current streaming queue, which runs the gamut from the House of Guinness to The Bob Newhart Show (I find those set pieces from the 1970s nostalgically comforting) and Good Cop/Bad Cop (I'll fess up: I'm primarily watching this since the male lead, Luke Cook, is so tall and dreamy). And, instead of staying organized and keeping up with my daily to-do list, I've allowed myself to be continually distracted by watching all the recent runway shows from the countless fashion houses that have installed new creative directors. Yes, I am a huge fan of Jonathan Anderson's new vision for Dior and have decided that everything in my closet will no longer do. I must find a way to procure some of the preppy, normcore pieces he sent out for his menswear show — and, voilà! It'll be Billy 2.0. The good news is that I will have a singular focus the first week of November: design, design, and more delicious design. Yes, November 3 through 7 brings Texas Design Week Dallas (TXDW) and the opening of Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas (VIP preview, November 6). TXDW has one of the most engaging and enchanting group of programs, with speakers including designers Martin Brudnizki, Cabana's Marina Mondadori, David Kleinberg, Rebecca Gardner, and Tom Scheerer; Architectural Digest's Amy Astley; Frederic magazine's Hudson Moore; and La DoubleJ visionary founder J.J. Martin, to name a few. Speaking of design, check out what has to be one of my favorite homes we've ever featured: the Neoclassical villa of hospitality impresario Chas Martin. If you know Chas (as he has likely greeted you at one of Duro Hospitality's concepts, perhaps Mister Charles or El Carlos Elegante), you know his larger-than-life personality. I was utterly enamored when I saw the equally larger-than-life interiors created by Sees Design to reflect the man of the manor. As we enter the final stretch of the 2025 social swirl, with the holidays fast approaching, I'm sure you'll find inspiration in this issue, which is filled with jewels. Check out our preview of "Constellations: Contemporary Jewelry at the Dallas Museum of Art," drawn from the institution's impressive permanent collection. In our "Bold and Beautiful" feature, revel in the work of David Webb, Margot McKinney, Sevan Biçakçi, and Hutton Wilkinson for Tony Duquette. And perhaps you'll find a kindred spirit in Melissa Smrekar if you agree with her "Ode to the Cartier Tank Watch." I'm sure I'll bump into you at some swellegant shindig this month, so be sure to bring out your sparkly pieces (what good are baubles that live in a vault) for a dazzling entrance.
