I t is mid-morning in Dallas, late afternoon in the UK, and I am on Zoom with Olivia von Halle, who is at her family's home in the English countryside, fresh from riding her horses. The UK-based designer is Inn Sleeping effortlessly chic, and it all now makes sense that this is the elegant woman behind the world's most exclusive collection of pajamas and loungewear. She is fashionable without trying too hard. In short: She is the girl we all aspire to be. The topic at hand is Dallas women and the types of ladies von Halle expects to meet when she is in town to launch her collection of pajamas a n d a c c e s s o r i e s designed exclusively for Rosewood Mansion o n Tu r t l e C r e e k , celebrating the 100th anniversary of the original Mansion estate. It will be her first time in Texas, and she is positively thrilled to visit. "I imagine the Dallas woman gets her hair properly done and has a very planned wardrobe, a very planned event diary and lots of fabulous parties to go to," she says. As it relates to the spirit of Dallasites, von I n exciting design-world news, Proper Hotels is expanding to Dallas and opening in 2029. With sister hotels in San Francisco, L.A., Palm Springs, Culver City, Montauk, Malibu, Venice Beach, Beverly Hills, Miami Beach, and Austin, the Dallas Proper will be located on four acres at 2500 Cedar Springs Road in Uptown. Dallas Proper Hotel & Residences was founded by Brad Korzen (Kor Group) along with Brian De Lowe and Alex Samek. Mega-designer Kelly Wearstler, who designs all the Proper Hotels, is married to Korzen. If you've visited any of the Proper properties, you know that Wearstler's eye and hand are all over it. And that's a good thing. Dallas Proper, developed with Lincoln Property Company and architecture by Fitting and Proper Halle is spot-on, making her collection for the Mansion just the thing our well-heeled ladies will covet. Von Halle's pajama and loungewear is known for beautiful craftsmanship and fabrics — heavy-weighted silk that drapes beautifully over the body, mother-of-pearl buttons, French seams, hand-rolled piping, and custom fabrics and prints all made via artisanal silk-screen method. "You can sleep in them," says von Halle, "but they are also beautifully made, and can absolutely be worn outside the house." The Mansion on Turtle Creek collection offers a hand- drawn print featuring iconic architectural details seen throughout the property, all silkscreened in a dreamy pink and green palette. Von Halle also collaborated with The Carlyle, Rosewood's iconic Upper East Side hotel in Manhattan. We couldn't imagine a better sleep partner for our own city's most legendary destination. Christina Geyer Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, will be a 34-story flagship with 200 guestrooms and suites, three restaurants, five bar and lounge concepts, a rooftop pool deck with skyline views, and 22,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space. On the upper floors, Dallas Proper Residences will have 80 homes ranging from one to four bedrooms, including one- and two-story penthouses with panoramic views. Residential owners will have a private rooftop pool, dining terrace, and owners' lounge, along with private access to both the Proper Club and Wellness Center. With a 15,000-square- foot Wellness Center with a members-only Proper Club, the goal, says Brian De Lowe, is to create a connected network of Proper Clubs across the country.
