I nspiration: Designer Joshua Bernard has always taken the long view of his career, and the 10 years of deliberate practice he spent working his way towards his Kips Bay installation prove that patience is a virtue. Bernard took what could be a challenging space — a transitional hallway and bath — and turned it into a sophisticated mission statement. The dark and moody result combines touchable textures and rich materials to an alluring effect, proving that this determined rising star has already achieved an aesthetic of his own.
