Photography Danny Campbell Texas Dip W hat: For 40 years, the Dallas S y m p h o n y Orchestra League Presentation Ball has stood as one of Texas' most enduring and elegant traditions. A time- honored rite of passage celebrated throughout families and often passed on from generation to generation, this year continued the custom as 44 debutantes and their honor guards took the revered stage for their debut. Where: Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center Moment: Co-chaired by Maggie Kipp and Kristin Hallam, with Fanchon and Howard Hallam serving as honorary chairs, the 40th anniversary year raised record underwriting dollars for the cause. Claire Catrino, as DSOL president, guided the direction of the ball, with Barbara Averitt as the honor guard liaison. Emcee Stan Gardner formally introduced each debutante, who performed the traditional Texas Dip. After the presentation, debutantes joined their fathers on the dance floor for the cherished Grand Waltz.
