T he newest store on Fairmount Street hails from Boston, shops like Paris and London, and feels like home. Weston Table — an online marketplace for tabletop, entertaining, kitchen, and design objects — opened its first Texas flagship this summer in Uptown. The 2,000-square-foot space is filled with the kind of color and personality that founder Dianne O'Connor says Dallas is craving. Seven differently styled rooms are drenched in deep blues, greens, and rich browns, with 10.5-foot ceilings, a floor-to-ceiling apothecary case in the front parlor, and a set table for six. The effect is more well-appointed home than showroom. O'Connor grew up in Montana. She attended Trinity University in San Antonio, built a career in financial services in Boston, and raised five children before founding Weston Table, which is named for the Massachusetts town where her family lived for more than 25 years, coupled with her belief that the best things in life happen around the table. About 20 percent of the inventory consists of vintage, one-of-a-kind pieces she hunts down on yearly buying trips around the globe: majolica oyster plates, framed Hermès scarves, colorful Murano lamps, antique Christofle silver-plate vases — the kind of heirloom finds that make a room. Also look for hand-forged Italian pewter barware and serveware by Match, hand-painted Italian tablecloths by Bertozzi, ceramic plates by French house Gien, artisan-made Portuguese ceramics by Bordallo Pinheiro, William Yeoward crystal, Landry & Arcari rugs and carpeting, and artist Claire Crowe's lighting and fireplace screens. Weston Table has also partnered with Little Greene to bring the company's eco-friendly paints and wallpapers to Dallas. Pull Up a Chair A l l a n K n i g h t & Associates is relocating its flagship showroom to the Dallas Design Center at 1025 N. Stemmons Freeway. The showroom is known for its own lines of handmade lighting with gemstones, water gilding, and custom ironwork; crystal-clear bench-made acrylic furnishings; and custom furniture. Represented lines include Natasha Baradaran, Anees Furniture & Design, Loro Piana, Kelly Wearstler, Nancy Corzine, Suzanne Tucker Home, Michael Berman Limited, MJ Atelier, Opuzen, J. Robert Scott, and Randolph & Hein. The move begins Thursday, October 1, with the newly imagined space set to open by year's end. allanknight.com. RS O'Connor tapped Dallas designer Javier Burkle of Burkle Creative, whose signature layered style was honed during his tenure at Ralph Lauren, to help bring Weston Table's brick-and-mortar retail experience to life.
