So, when I was asked to co-write her second book, Memorable Rooms: Artisanal Collaborations — out this month from Rizzoli, with a foreword by her friend, the London designer Veere Grenney — I thought I fully understood what makes her inimitable style so instantly recognizable. She has a well-honed skill for combining subtle colors and a variety of patterns, and a rare gift for layering a room without tipping into clutter.
