Chairmen Terri Provencal Maxine Trowbridge M uch like the late Shelly Musselman, the evening's Lifetime Achievement Award winner, the Night of Stars Gala benefitting Judy Aldridge Fashion Group International was both Jane fashionable and unforgettable. To pay Aldridge tribute to the style icon, Forty Five Ten owner and Musselman's former business partner, Brian Bolke, curated a heartfelt presentation starring museum-worthy pieces from her private fashion collection. Catwalk producer Jan Strimple directed the models' D'Andra Simmons every strut, as 30 storied looks were sent down the runway at the Grand Pavilion at the Dallas Trade Mart. Standouts included a liquid-steel jumpsuit created by Nina Ricci in the '80s, a mesh boudoir coat by Jean Paul Gaultier, edgy pieces by Comme des Garçons and Yohji Yamamoto, and six striking Alexander McQueens. In addition to remembering such a singular tastemaker, FGI also honored its Fashion & Lifestyle Award winners: restaurateur Alberto Lombardi, photographer Tim Boole, fashion designer Shirin Askari, beauty entrepreneur D'Andra Simmons, blogger Jane Aldridge, jewelry designer Elizabeth Showers and The Gypsy Wagon owner Carley Seale. Society stars gathered for the occasion including chairmen Terri Provencal and Maxine Trowbridge; members of Shelly's family including Jimmy Musselman, Meredith Musselman, Lauren and Matt Musselman, Will Musselman, Ed Clarac, Meredith Clarac, and Pete Clarac; as well as guests Patti Crews, Elaine Agather, and Sue and Jimmy Gragg. The enormous space had been staged to resemble the new Perot Museum, meaning it was filled with copious taxidermy, a mini planetarium and dinosaurs galore. Top applause went to the specially commissioned live-auction painting by Chris Judy and the musical performance by children of the BBBS program.
