Perched upon a gilded cream silk settee, co-founders MacKenzie Brittingham Sumrall and Nardos Imam embrace and pose for photographs to be featured on their new website. They could not be more perfectly opposite: Sumrall, a Dallas native and SMU grad, spent the past few years working for her family's commercial real estate company while Imam, a Dallas transplant by way of Eritrea in Northern Africa, worked her way up from tailor to in-house designer at Stanley Korshak, where she worked for seven years prior to going solo. Their friendship began two years ago over a mink dress: Sumrall's gown for her winter nuptials in Aspen. "It took me awhile to find the right person to make my dreams come to fruition," she says, "but Nardos sketched designs for me and went over the entire development. We hit it off right away." The ladies reconnected six months ago for an even larger venture: opening their own 2,000-square foot boutique. "I saw MacKenzie throughout her wedding planning, a girl's most stressful period, and she remained sweet and composed the entire time. It is the perfect partnership," Imam says. With about 35 original designs, the studio imports fabric and lace from all over the world and custom-designs gowns for the mothers of the bride and groom, as well as evening and cocktail dresses. "Every girl has a dream of what they want to look like on their wedding day," says Imam, "so to get the opportunity to make their dreams come true is priceless." Lauren Scheinin VEILS in BLOOM Brides looking for something more than typical tulle have found a friend in Lower Greenville's Bows and Arrows. The design studio, opened by husband-and-wife duo Adam and Alicia Rico in 2009, specializes in ornate headpieces made from fresh flowers both locally sourced and imported from Holland, France, South America and Australia. The shop operates under the ideology that flowers should retain their true flowing form even as they are arranged. Lauren Scheinin Louis Vuitton turned to the details of its lauded leather goods to expand its collection of diamond engagement and wedding rings. The Monogram Infiniti rings feature monogram detail in gold, rose gold or silver with princess-cut diamonds, while the Epi bands call to mind Vuitton's leather piping. The Capitonée ring with crisscross lines is inspired by the interior of the original trunks, back when tufting the top was de rigueur. The most elaborate new ring?
