Chairs Joy Posoli, Nancy Thorington, and Lynda Lighthouse Transier welcomed nearly 600 guests to the affair, which began with a reception and a chance to score fabulous prizes from a raffle. Luncheon in the ballroom followed, during which veteran Child Advocates supporter and volunteer Hildegarde Ballard was honored and guests were treated to a runway show presented by Neiman Marcus with looks from Roland Mouret's spring collection. More than $400,000 was raised for the nonprofit, which matches children in foster care with advocates, helping them have a voice. Lending a hand: raffle chairs Rosemary Schatzman and Phyllis Williams, Advocates president Tracy Eklund, Dolly Dawson Thomas, Stephanie Cockrell, Janice McNair, Denise Monteleone, and Neiman's dapper GM Bob Devlin. Erin Oppenheim T ootsies third annual Love's in Fashion event, benefitting Dec My Room, had couples strolling the runway two by two, the ladies in fine apparel from Tootsies and the gents sporting smart looks from West Ave neighbor Suitsupply. When 6-year-old cancer patient Charlie Dina came out holding the hand of former Texas A&M quarterback and high draft prospect Johnny Manziel, the crowd rose for a standing ovation. Social sweethearts: Tootsies owner Mickey Rosmarin; modeling couples Tiffany and Rick Smith, Dominique Sachse Florescu and Nick Florescu, Megan Sutton-Reed and Chris Reed, Pam Morse and Dan Pastorini, Elizabeth and Daryl Allen, and Karina and Carlos Barbieri, among others; Dec My Room founding president Susan Plank with husband Michael; Houston Texans vice chairman Cal McNair; and Melissa and Michael Mithoff. Erin Oppenheim V ivian Wise has reimagined retail. The mobile Velvet Slipper has taken to the road, thanks to her Airstream trailer dubbed Babette — and first stop was Houston. More specifically, The Corinthian, for an evening themed "The Night Circus." With Babette pulled up alongside the grand Corinthian, revelers were invited in to see the custom interiors designed by Valerie Cook while DJ Lady Bunny spun tunes. Wise and Babette will now journey to other cities for private showings, parties and home visits to show her wares. Her adventures also benefit the community: For each event, 10 percent of the proceeds go charity; the beneficiary this night was Bering Omega Community Services. Bewitched by Babette: Jeff Shell, Don Mafrige Jr., George Lancaster, Rebekah Johnson, Marie and Bill Wise, Franklin Rose, Carolyn Farb, Genna Evans, and Holly Waltrip.
