The evening was chaired by it-couple Janae and Kenneth Tsai. DJ Kalkutta, back by popular demand, did the turntable stylings, and Vietnamese-American DJ Baohaus also spun. Lucky couple Leela and Nat Krishnamurthy went home with the grand raffle prize: a pair of business-first round-trip tix to Taipei, courtesy of United Airlines. Cocktails on the lawn segued into sushi in the grand hall, then taiko drummers sounded the dinner bell, and a City Kitchen seated repast greeted more than 650 revelers in separate dining areas throughout the Center's polished galleries, adorned for the occasion in pink hues evoking cherry blossoms. Among the global notables at this record setting night edging to the million dollar mark: benefactress supreme Nancy Allen with daughter-in-law and son Chinhui and Eddie Allen (he, board vice chair), Lily Foster and board chair Charles Foster, Rice's first couple Y.
